Saint Peter's Youth Club (S.P.Y.C.)

St. Peter's Youth Club (SPYC) was founded in February of 1997 to bring the youths (ages 13-25) of St. Peter's Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church together into one cohesive unit. In 2002, Mar Gregorious Syrian Orthodox Student Association (MGSOSA) was instituted in the Malankara Syrian Orthodox North American Diocese creating a national youth group for the Malankara Syrian Orthodox faith. SPYC became part of MGSOSA Philadelphia Chapter. We have tried to organize group activities throughout the years to bring greater unity, to have greater involvement within our community, and to enhance our religious experience

As members of the youth, the church provides us with the spiritual support necessary for us to better ourselves as Christians. The youth here at Saint Peter's provides programs and services for the youth. This is provided through spiritual activities, recreational activities, cultural activities, and more. The many services at Saint Peter's Youth Club are targeted to encourage the youngsters to participate in the planning and implementation of programs for the church for "the youths of today are the adults of tomorrow".

Our motto is to empower the youth to take the responsibilities of tomorrow.
